Testimonial from Mrs. Margaret Wrigley of Hatton, Warrington , Cheshire .
My mother Violet went into Chaseside for a period of respite care in April 2003. She had found living at home, even with carers, to be very difficult. She settled in very easily and her brief stay turned into one of four years. She realized that she could no longer look after herself properly at home and the caring staff and comfortable atmosphere made the decision to stay very easy both for her and the family.
During her time at Chaseside she enjoyed visits from the staffs' children and pets, outings to Blackpool illuminations and being taken through Ashton Gardens and then along the seafront in her wheelchair. Those activities which she was able to join in she did so like Tai Chi and the weekly visit from the hairdresser ensured that she continued to feel smart as she had always taken a pride in her appearance. There were some changes during her stay and the greatest and most beneficial took place two years ago with the arrival of Lynn Hayes as Manager. Lynne has employed staff who follow her example of both care and respect for the elderly people who they look after.
My Mother's family and friends were always made welcome and we were always kept informed if any problems arose. As she got older her health deteriorated both mentally and physically but we never considered moving her. We always had full confidence in the ability of Lynn and the staff to care for her and also that they would not consider her to be a burden to them.
Sadly Mum died in February this year after suffering a stroke. She had spent her last days at Chaseside and I was able to stay with her as the staff continued their care. She died peacefully in her sleep in the place she considered home and not in a hospital ward. For this I will always be truly grateful.
From Veronica Jackson (Mrs.)
I am a full time carer for my mother who has Vascular Dementia. Mum stays at the Chaseside rest home in St. Annes-on-sea for respite care while I have a break from caring duties.Lynn, Liz and the staff at the Chaseside always make her very welcome. I feel confident in entrusting my mothers care to the girls there and I can fully relax knowing that she is in safe hands.
I also feel that Lynn understands my needs as a carer and that she takes that into consideration.
Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the Chaseside home.
